About Me

My photo
I live on 6 deeply wooded acres in the boonies of Middleville, MI. I'm married to an amazing man, Brian. He's pretty much the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm a big animal lover. I have 5 cats; Bella (6), Cognac (3), Georgia (3), Maggie (2), & Auggie (8-9mos.) We recently lost our kittens, Aesop & Amelia, to a battle with Feline Leukemia. I feel the need to mention them. They were amazing beings that showed unconditional love like no other cats I've had. I also have Cheech (9) that I'm fostering. We have two puppies; Charlie & Henry. Having a blast! I'm a dabbler in photography, photo shop, & crafts. I'm kind of a bookworm/nerd/geek. Yes, I have read the Twilight Series. No, I'm not obsessed. I love Shakespeare, Nathaniel Hawthorne, C.S. Lewis, and L. Frank Baum - among others, obviously.

Stuff and Things

Well, four days to go! I'm getting pretty darned excited! I'm a little nervous, though. Mainly because I'm planning this huge party where everyone will be watching me. Brian and I have a busy week coming up before Saturday. I'll be taking Thursday off from work to make the last of the pinwheels... Good riddance. ;) Just a little tired of making them, that's all...

This past weekend was the bachelorette party. I had a blast with my maids! We started off with manicures and pedicures... Then we had dinner at Sam's Joint in Caledonia... On the way there we totally saw an older guy wearing cowboy boots, jeans, wife beater tank top, handle bar mustache, with longer (yet balding) hair staring at us in the car... After dinner we went bowling and had a lot of laughs there. Then we settled over at Brian's house (he was at his bachelor party in Somerset) and watched Bride Wars. After the movie it was down to three of us. We talked until around midnight. After that it was just down to Nicole and I. Where we managed to talk and watch a movie until 6:00 a.m.

Me getting my pedicure. I have incredibly sensitive feet. So, I squirmed and sqealed a bit...

This is by far one of my favorite pictures of the night. Rachel was presenting the shirt she bought for me to the camera and I changed my expression at the last second. :)

Also, coming up... Next Monday, before Brian and I leave for the honeymoon, I will be cutting off all of my hair (around 20 inches) and donating it to the Locks of Love. I'm very pleased with my decision, even though Brian is sad to see my hair go. Locks of Love is an amazing non-profit organization that provides hair pieces to financially disadvantaged children that have lost their hair to any type of medical diagnosis. If you're interested in donating please check out the requirements/standards on their site's donation page. Click Here.

  1. Hi Amy, I had originally replied to you that we were not going to be able to come to your wedding because our son, Bryan (Brian's cousin) was graduating from college on 6/26 and had to get out of his appartment. Well, we decided to go ahead and pay for another month's rent and not have the pressure. Therefore, if it's not too late - we would like to come. It will be Uncle Ray, Aunt Lynn (Dr & Mrs. Ray McKinley), Bryan and Tyler. Ray called Rand and gave him the info and Rand said it would be fine. Let me know if any problem. blynnmckinley@yahoo.com
